Academy for Keepers

Home | Coaches | Courses | Photos | Techniques

The aim of the Academy is to ensure every Goalkeeper improves through a proven process which encourages development at an individuals pace by way of focused small group training. Each qualified coach works with a maximum of seven similarly skilled keepers to ensure everyone receives the attention required to progress as a keeper.

The academy has helped place a number of younger goalkeepers at professional clubs following successful trials.

We will help all goalkeepers, girls and boys improve their abilities in the following areas :

- Footwork
- Handling / Shot Stopping
- Technique
- Positional Play (getting in line with the ball and protecting the goal)
- Dealing with Crosses
- 1 v 1 Situations
- Distribution – Kicking and Throwing (all variations)
- Recovery Saves
- Decision Making

Testimonies

I have been attending Johns academy since March and have seen a huge improvement in my skills, ability and confidence. The courses are really enjoyable, even the adult course, despite its intensity. John and his assistant Mike Carr are always at hand to support and assist you in your development. I can highly recommend these courses to any keeper of any age who wants to improve and develop his skills and ability to a high standard in a friendly atmosphere.

Hi John,

I have been attending your goalkeeping academy ever since you started running it. You have recently promoted me to training with the senior keepers at 6.30pm on Tuesdays at Bromborough. The coaching I have received from you and your staff has been excellent and I have found it has helped me tremendously with my goalkeeping techniques.

I have recently passed my FA Level 1 Football coaching certificate (I have attached a copy of my certificate) and I am now looking for opportunities to put my coaching skills into practice.

Regards,
David
