The aim of the Academy is
to ensure every Goalkeeper improves through a proven
process which encourages development at an individuals
pace by way of focused small group training. Each
qualified coach works with a maximum of seven similarly
skilled keepers to ensure everyone receives the
attention required to progress as a keeper.
The academy has helped place a number of younger
goalkeepers at professional clubs following successful
trials.
We will help all goalkeepers, girls and boys improve
their abilities in the following areas :
- Footwork
- Handling / Shot Stopping
- Technique
- Positional Play (getting in line with the ball and
protecting the goal)
- Dealing with Crosses
- 1 v 1 Situations
- Distribution – Kicking and Throwing (all variations)
- Recovery Saves
- Decision Making
