300 Not Out

On a personal level I was delighted to make my 300th 1st team appearance for Tranmere recently in the 1- 1 away draw at Cheltenham.  I was gutted not to keep a clean sheet but feel pleased to give Chrissy an assist with the long kick in the first half ;o)

Here's hoping for a few more.

Over the coming weeks I will also have a new exciting glove product.  Finger Save Gloves with removable spines which is ideal if any of your spines snap or fracture - you don't need to replace your gloves!

New Goal Keeper Courses

We are starting a new 8 week course at Bromborough on a Tuesday evening on 28th August 2007 and another course in Flint on a Wednesday evening on 29th August 2007.

The cost of the course is £40 for the 8 lessons - £5 per lesson and is open to keepers of both sexes and of all ages.

We want all keepers to wear the same training top for the sessions and this can be viewed on the shop page.  The charge for the sweater will be £10.  We recommend you buy a size larger than you normally wear to ensure you get value for money by being able to wear it for longer.

Preseason has gone very well for me individually and for the team.  We are gelling well and are really looking forward to the season.

On a personal note would anyone have a copy of the Millwall Away game?  I cannot seem to find mine anywhere and would love to see it again.

Wow, a week is a long time in Football.

I cannot describe how happy I am to have signed a 2 year playing and coaching contract with Tranmere Rovers.

I would like to thank everyone for the support shown to me over the last week, it means more than you could know.

I can't wait to get back to coaching at the club and hopefully getting to 300 games with Tranmere.

As you will have read I have been released from Tranmere Rovers today.

The leaving has come very quickly and I am saddened that I cannot say Goodbye to all the fans and people who have supported me over the 9 great years I have spent here.

Hopefully, in football our paths will cross again so that I can show my appreciation to the best fans in the league.

The knee is getting better all of the time.  I still wear the brace but have now resumed training with the first team.  There is still a lot of work to do but everything is looking and feeling good, its great to be training again.

The new range of gloves for the 07/08 season will arrive in the next few weeks.  As soon as I have them in I will let the winners of the "name the gloves competition" know and arrange to send their prize out.

Recovery on my knee injury is going well.  I am working with Les Parry and we are focusing on the cross trainer, leg and arm weights, sit ups and he even had me running up and down the stairs in the main stand!  We are also doing a lot of boxing and the way things are looking I could get a part in the next Rocky film.

Finally, thank you for all the replies to my email about names for my new glove ranges for next season.  The gloves have now gone into production and the winners will be notified shortly.  The new range will include both roll finger and flat palm in finger save and non finger save styles.

The courses are going well in Bromborough and Flint and we still have a few places left, please contact me if you want to be part of these.  We are planning to continue these through the close season to maintain fitness and sharpness so that we are all ready for the 1st game of next season!

As many of you will know, Tranmere are playing Bury in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday 17th October.

This means that the Bromborough Goal Keeping course will commence on Tuesday 24th October.

New Goal Keeper Courses

We are looking to start a new 6 week goal keeper course in both Flint and Bromborough.

Both courses are 6 weeks in total.

The Flint course will take place on a Wednesday evening starting the 9th August.

The Bromborough course will take place on a Tuesday evening starting the 15th August.

Should the sessions clash with any Tranmere commitments I will notify you in advance and the course will be moved back one week, but each course will still be 6 weeks long.

We have a new Wirral based course about to start on Sunday 16th July. The course is open to keepers of all ages and ability levels and is 1 hour per week over 4 weeks and costs £5 per weekly session.
